Drop down the first exit, hit the Switch to open the shortcut and then head to the right to meet Relic Seeker Lemm. Jump your way over to the right to enter the next building. Make your way up to the top of the ledges for a Hollownest Seal. Go up the second lift and take a jump and a dash to the ledge on the left about half-way up. The building to the right is closed off from here so head back to the left. Ignore it for now and continue to the right to the memorial for the Hollow Knight. This opens the drain to the Royal Waterways. Past the lift you’ll see a mechanism that needs a Simple Key. Run back the way you came and continue to the right along the ground. There are 4 upgrades in all, Sharpened Nail, Channelled Nail, Coiled Nail and Pure Nail. The basic Nail does 5 damage so after the first upgrade the Nail will hit for 9 damage. Each upgrade adds 4 damage to your attack. The next upgrades will cost you Geo as well as Pale Ore. He will upgrade the strength of your nail. Head all the way to the left until you find the Nailsmith in his little hut. The path directly to the map maker is also blocked off so you’ll need to make a loop around to find him.įrom the entrance make your way to the right and drop down to find the first Bench. Don’t get greedy on attacking during this window as you should still be able to manage the orbs that are homing in on the Knight.Only the western half of the City of Tears will be accessible until you find another entrance through a different area to the eastern side of the city. Despite the alterations in Soul Master’s attacks, this phase will be easier compared to the first phase as it is easy to anticipate his attacks and there are more windows to attack when Soul Master performs the Altered Orb attack. Just be careful of the homing orbs.Īnticipating and dodging attacks is key in this phase as there will be fewer windows for the Knight to heal. This can be a window to attack as Soul Master will remain stationary. Soul Master will hover in an area for a short moment and summon orbs every second on different areas of the arena that will still home in on the Knight. This can also be evaded by dashing out of the blast’s range. Similar to the original Fake Out Slam, watch out for the reset in the middle of the Altered Slam attack as this is the sign that Soul Master will perform the Fake Out Altered Slam. The same as the original Fake Out Slam attack but with the effect of the Altered Slam attack. Soul Master will teleport in order to move around the arena or he will teleport at least once before doing an attack. Watch out for the reset in the middle of the Slam attack as this is the sign that Soul Master will perform the Fake Out Slam. This attack starts the same way as the Slam attack but halfway down the drop, Soul Master will reset and do the Slam attack on the Knight’s new and current position and create a shockwave on impact. Soul Master will target the Knight and then slam straight down onto the ground and create a shockwave that will ripple on both sides of the battle arena. Soul Master can be easily attacked when he performs this just be careful of the orbs around him. After levitating across, Soul Master will disappear but the orbs will stay and levitate across the arena again. The orbs will rotate clockwise if Soul Master is levitating towards the left side of the arena and counterclockwise if Soul Master is levitating towards the right side of the arena. Soul Master will levitate across the arena with four orbs around him.
